Seems reasonable. Do you have the budget to send it to Icon?

I could easily pay to send it to them. I however don’t have the budget to have them work on it or ship it back to me.

I’ve interviewed for a new job that would be a better schedule and more money. If I get it I may go look and shoot an offer. It’s been posted for months.

This is an excellent terrible idea!

That is going to cost 3 times whatever you budget, and it’ll still be rusting off the body mounts.

With a rusty International I think the only budget is “I’ll keep throwing money at it till there’s no original metal left.” I think the seller was very careful when he chose what to say was rusty. All those pieces are available as prefabbed replacement panels though Super Scouts.

Amazing how people love those things. Apparently the diesel ones were impossible to kill.

I think the diesel was only offered in the smaller scout. It was bought from Nissan. Their gas engines were pretty robust but low on hp compared to the competition.
I really like them myself. I’m not to far from Springfield, Ohio where they built the light trucks and still see quite a few around the area; very few actually on the road though.
The Travall at least of this vintage wouldn’t be my first choice. That would go either to a 60's Travellette or a 74-75 Wagon Master.
Plus, you can get one of the most confusing shift patterns used in a light duty truck if you get one of the later 5-speed overdrive transmissions.

You are right - the diesel was available in the two-door only - a vehicle a bit smaller than the full-sized Blazer of the time.

They actually sold a couple of different 2 door models.
The scout and scout 2 that were smaller than a blazer.
And the traveler that was slightly larger
Plus, the early travelall was actually a 2-door. They later became a 3-door and finally a 4-door.

You know far too much about this topic ... and I thank you for posting it.
